West Bromwich Albion have today become the latest Premier League club to announce an official ban on vuvuzelas within their ground for the forthcoming season.
In a statement on the club's website, Mark Miles, Albion's head of facility operations and development, said: "Although vuvuzelas are very popular in South Africa, which was very evident at the World Cup, we do not see them as becoming part of the English football culture.
"Not only is there strong opposition to vuvuzelas from the TV rights holders, we feel allowing them into our stadium would break the league's ground regulations.
"Most importantly, we have had a lot of feedback from our own supporters who have overwhelmingly stated their opposition to vuvuzelas being allowed into The Hawthorns."
Arsenal, Birmingham, Everton, Fulham and West Ham are among the other top-flight clubs in England to have announced bans on the plastic horns, either on the grounds of safety or annoyance. In Scotland, by contrast, Celtic announced at the start of this month they would be selling club-branded vuvuzelas.
