Tottenham face Manchester City hurdle en route to away wins record

In the 19 completed Premier League seasons Tottenham have never won more than seven games away from White Hart Lane in any one league campaign.
This season they have already won six of their 10 games on the road.
Their next away challenge is Sunday's journey to Manchester City.
Manchester is a place of such contrasting fortunes for Spurs. On the opening day of this season, against United, they made a 20th attempt to win a first Premier League game at Old Trafford - and failed. They lost 3-0 that day.
Their meagre gain of three Old Trafford points in 20 years has come from three draws, respectively six, seven and 17 seasons ago. Currently they have endured five straight defeats there.
But away at Manchester City, Tottenham have won more times (nine) than they have away at any other club in the Premier League era. Tottenham's full away record in the PL era is in the graphic below.
Those nine wins at City in 14 games mean Spurs have gained just over two points per game from City in Premier League games on average on City's turf.
Beware averages though, Spurs fans. On that subject, Tottenham would only pick up another nine points on their travels this season if they keep to their average score of points from the clubs they have left to play (* in the table below.)
