Everton on brink of 1,000-point milestone

Everton have won 999 points from their 751 Premier League games to date in the PL era, so need just one more point for 1,000.
It should arrive soon. Their next game is at West Brom on Sunday, then they play at home to Bolton on Wednesday 4 January.
Everton are one of only seven 'ever-present' clubs in the 20 seasons of the Premier League; the others are Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham.
As the top part of our graphic shows (below), Everton will be the last of the seven 'ever-present' clubs to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
Up to now, Manchester United have won 720 more points than Everton, at a rate of 2.15 points per game against Everton's 1.33 points per game.
Of the Premier League clubs who have not been ever-present, three of them have higher average points-per-game tallies than Everton: Leeds, Newcastle and Blackburn.
The lower part of the graphic below shows the points-per-game records of every club in Premier League history and shows how many points those clubs would have now if they had been ever-present for 20 seasons with their points records.
It's interesting to note - for Newcastle fans at least - that NUFC have amassed a mere 17 points fewer than Everton in total despite having played two whole seasons fewer!
At the other end of the scale, it is a depressing thought for Watford fans to realise that at their Premier League standard, they would take 36 and a half years (or 1,385 games) to reach the 1,000 points that Everton will have achieved in 19 and a half seasons.
