Anti-owner Blackburn protestors call temporary truce against Venky's

Blackburn Rovers fans opposed to the ownership of the club by Venky's and to the ongoing management of the club by Steve Kean have called a temporary 'truce' in public protests against the regime for the next two home games.
Rovers play relegation rivals West Brom this weekend and Bolton the following Tuesday in two massively important games that will help determine whether Rovers stay in the Premier League.
Recent home games have seen large and vociferous protests against Venky's and Kean.
But protest organiser Glen Mullan has told Sportingintelligence today: "We've called a temporary postponement to the organised element of our protests on the basis that we have been promised an imminent meeting with Steve Kean to voice some of our concerns, particularly in relation to comments he's made about fans.
"Secondly, we have been guaranteed that we will be able to meet with senior club management including directors in the week commencing Monday 19 December to discuss supporters' concerns about the management of the football club.
"It has been agreed by senior officials at the club that the agenda for that meeting will be set by the suppporters.
"To be clear, the attendees in the fans' delegation will be chosen by supporters and not hand-picked by the club."
Blackburn were asked last week by bankers Barclays for £10m to be paid into the club account by 31 December to honour contractual obligations over future funding.
Blackburn don't deny this but insist that the financial future of Rovers is not in doubt, and Rovers claim that not in doubt either are any future wage payments.
